Chapter 1: Cape Town awaits…
I’ve just arrived home after spending an amazing, rewarding and inspiring trip to the Kruger Park, my happy place! I didn’t let me down and delivered so many awesome sightings and so many special moments with my family. Please check in to my social media pages for the amazing photos.
We are back home for a few days to literally pack up our last few belongings before the transport truck arrives on Sunday to take everything down to Somerset West, our new home. My family and I, our little dog Phoebe and cat Elsa, will start driving down on Monday the 19th of December, taking three days to get to Somerset West…I didn’t want to rush there but rather make the trip a small holiday exploring the Karoo and exploring new parts of our country.
We will be heading to Colesburg for the first stopover staying at Kuilfontein Stable Cottages. I stayed here many years ago driving down to do the Argus Cycle Tour. They have converted old stables into quaint boutique styled bedrooms. The food provided is homemade.
We then head off to our second stayover at Prince Albert, I haven’t stayed here before and look forward to experiencing this little town. We will be staying at Olive Grove Cottage on the main road of Prince Albert. It’s not too long a drive from Colesburg and I made sure it has a pool so we can chill and relax before our next stopover.
We then head off to Greyton our final stop over before arriving in Somerset West. I found a stunning little place called Oewerzicht Farm Cottages which are located on an actual working apple farm. This little cottage also has a hot tub for us to relax in….
Finally on Thursday the 22ND of December we head off to our new home in Somerset West and starting a new chapter for my family and me.
Our new home is at Croydon Olive Estate, which is also a working Olive Farm. It is situated 10mins from Stellenbosch in a little area of Somerset West called Croydon. Good news for the kids is that we are 10mins from the nearest beach in Strand!

After spending time at my happy place I now feel ready and excited for the next journey in my life. Although I’m very scared of the big changes taking place I have managed to put things in place for lots of very exciting things to come.
We are responsible for our life and what it is. We can create a life we deserve rather than one that just happens and we just go with the flow…never really achieving the life we want! Covid19 or anything else that gets thrown at us must be a lesson learnt that should anything else happen in the future, we are ready and living a life not based on the wrong ideals and values.
Over the next week, thing about what your values in life are and ask yourself, am I living the life I deserve?
