Howzit guys!

WOW!!! CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD….AGAIN!!! What a World Cup that was! Wining three games by one point, playing and beating 5 of the top teams in the world! Becoming the first team to win four World Cups!

Rugby is an amazing sport that is almost like going to war! In a strange way, we as people become warriors with the Springboks and identify ourselves ‘fighting’ against other countries. In our case, we are small guys in the playground but certainly not the weakest. The Springboks give us the strength and confidence to fight for our right and take on all the bullies in the playground! The ‘playground’ is full of the usual bullies like the English bulldog and the French poodle with her nose in the air!! All thinking they are better than us BUT this just makes us angrier, and we feed off this attitude.

So, for eight weeks we all go to war, defending our country and proving that we are stronger than they think!! The World hates to admit that we are better than them, so we just keep proving them wrong!! I personally identify with the Springboks and feel the strength they give me, filling me with determination and pride to face anything in my way! The Springboks are more than just a team, they are an elixir that energises us and gives us confidence to believe and identify with a stronger force, a force that drives us to believe in ourselves again and fight the enemy!!

If the Springboks were a political party, there’s no doubt they would win hands down!! I know this isn’t possible, but the principle is exactly what we all need right now….a positive force bringing us all together rather than trying to split us apart!!

The Springboks literally gave it their all, leaving everything on the field. Battered, bruised and bleeding with nothing left but pride and passion for a country desperately needing hope and inspiration. Watching the games on our television’s we were there on the field with them, living every moment, identifying ourselves with them. They represent the warrior in all of us, whether we are playing sport or facing tough times in our own lives, we live through them and we feel invincible, ready to fight another day.

Funny story, I always see this guy when I drop off my daughter at school in the mornings, he drives a bright yellow Porsche with a custom number plate – RWC 3 WP – and when I first saw him about 10 months ago, I wondered if he would change his plates should we win! I now wait to see what he will do!? 😉

The hectic winds continue here in the Cape, but the hot weather is here to stay. I can’t believe we are almost at the end of the year and Christmas is nearly here. The shops are filled with Christmas decorations already and its hard to believe we have been here for 10 months already. Next week, Joe. Blogs turns 1 year old, something I’m very proud of. I knew when I started writing them that I wouldn’t be able to stop. I always worried what I would talk about but here I am 51 weeks down the line and I look forward to many more.

Padel tennis has now become my new passion and favourite pastime. I absolutely love it and enjoy playing doubles with my wife and kids on the weekends as well as my new Cape Town friends during the week. It’s a great workout as well and a cool way to meet new friends.

I also have a new Life Coaching client and look forward to helping him develop some important life skills.

Have a super week everyone, see you on the other side!
Later,
